- Big old concrete saddle-like structure made sometime long ago on the south shore of West Hawk Lake. No one seems to know what it was made for... Thickness of the form varies b/ta couple inches at the top to four or five near the base and middle sections. It's been getting a bit crumbly in spots near the rim. The acoustics are pretty weird when in the tunnel. - A nice crawl climb up and down could be had as seen by pinching with hands and squeezing with feet - the snow patch necessitated a bit of an iorn cross move near the peak, but in the fair season it could easily be topped out - Outer walls are curvy and at a low enough angle to climb up the weathered, pockmarked surface with good shoes - Iinside could be an awesome cave room to glue on holds if the structure wasn't currently within the boundaries of a park campground. This January day was as cold as it was clear. |
